About the Authors

Prashant Kumar Singh

Prashant Kumar Singh has been serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Lucknow, for the past four years. He previously worked as a Research Assistant at C.S.J.M. University, Kanpur (2018–2021), where he handled multiple neuropharmacology-based research projects. He has authored more than 15 research papers in reputed international journals. His key research interests include natural product–based drug development and neuropharmacology.

Dr. Ambreen Shoaib

Dr. Ambreen Shoaib, Ph.D. (Pharmacology), is an accomplished academician and researcher with expertise in pharmacology, toxicology, nanomedicine, and natural product therapeutics. She has published extensively in leading journals such as ACS Omega, Molecules, and Nanotechnology Reviews, and has contributed several book chapters with Springer Nature and Academic Press.
Her research focuses on integrating natural products with innovative nanomedicine-based approaches to improve therapeutic outcomes. She maintains active regional and international collaborations and is listed as a collaborator with the Global Burden of Disease (GBD) project. She is credited in the highly cited 2025 Lancet article, “Global burden of 292 causes of death in 204 countries and territories, 1990–2024.”

Dr. Lubna Azmi

Dr. Lubna Azmi has been associated with the Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, University of Lucknow, for the past four years. She served as a SERB–National Postdoctoral Fellow at CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow (2019–2021), one of India’s premier drug discovery laboratories. She completed her Ph.D. at CSIR-NBRI, Lucknow (2014–2019), specializing in natural products and their formulations for gastrointestinal diseases.
Earlier, she worked at NIPER-RBL (2012–2014) as a Research Assistant, handling projects in synthetic and analytical chemistry. Azmi has over 50 international peer-reviewed publications. Her core research interests include gastric–tuberculosis drug discovery from synthetic and natural products, drug combination studies, and targeted drug delivery systems for tuberculosis.
