About the Book
Arable land is shrinking, the health of soil, plants, the environment, and humans is rapidly declining, and the global demand for sustainable, nutritious, and high-quality food is rising sharply. These urgent challenges call for innovative, science-driven solutions, particularly through entrepreneurship in plant science, which transforms scientific advancements into practical, market-ready applications. However, there remains a clear gap in comprehensive resources that connect traditional plant science education with real-world entrepreneurship, innovation, and business development.
Introduction to Entrepreneurships in Plant Science fills this critical gap. The book: (i) provides an overview of the fundamentals of entrepreneurship and innovation within plant science; (ii) offers core insights into plant-based product development and value addition; (iii) examines key elements of business planning, management, and marketing tailored to plant-science-focused ventures; and (iv) discusses important policies, legal frameworks, and sustainability principles shaping modern plant-based entrepreneurship.
Overall, this book serves as an essential guide for merging botanical expertise with entrepreneurial vision. It encourages plant scientists to translate their research and knowledge into innovative, sustainable, and commercially viable ventures, ultimately supporting a more resilient food system and improving soil, plant, environmental, and human health.
